In Miracles that is?
I wasn’t ever really sure that I did. Until now. Noodle’s friend is walking. A day last week she woke up from a nap, looked over and saw her mom sitting next to her bed and said “Hi Mom! I love you”. After 5 months of nothing. Someone else asked her if she was excited she was starting to talk. She turned her head to her best friend and said “Are you excited?”. For those of you who saw the video you know this is a huge step.
On that dreadful February day she was given a less than 1% survival rate. When they moved her 2 months ago to the center she is at now, best case scenario was 8 -12 months before they would even discuss the next step.
Today they told her they are sending her home in 2 weeks. She is walking on her own and hasn’t stop talking since she started again. Tomorrow she will be going to the movies with her friend, for her first trip outside other than to a doctor visit since the accident.
They are making arrangements to have her return to school in August! This August! She will not be able to return to our school right away but are hoping to have her back with her friends after the 1st of the year.
When it first happened everyone wanted to know “Why Her?”.
I think in a way, now we know.
