I can barely move this morning. Friday Noodle had a j0g-a-th0n at school. The little turkey asked me to run with her. When I finally gave in and said yes, she took off running like a bat out of hell. Because I wasn’t going to let her beat me I wanted to run with her I did the same thing. I am still paying for it 2 days later.
After getting my ass kicked our nice little leisurely stroll they had a BBQ at school. I suckered asked 5 or 6 other parents to help me grill 800 hot dogs for the kiddos, so on top of using muscles I had forgotten I had running with the kids, we stood on our feet for the next 4 hours grilling and serving hot dogs.
(If this post about being sore after 800 wienies doesn’t get some wack jobs to show up from the search engine I don’t know what will).
This morning when I was coming down the stairs (very slowly) Noodle asked me what was wrong. I told her my legs hurt from Friday. She said “But Mom, you only ran a few laps”. Hubs chimed in from the couch “But she hasn’t run in 15 years”. Can you feel the love around here?

We are still without TV. Between the two of us we spent over 4 hours on the phone yesterday trying to find out what was going on. Today when I call I am going to ask the person on the phone for their address and tell them I am bringing all of our friends over to watch the Super Bowl there. (No, we are not having a super bowl party but they don’t know that and I am out of ideas). Speaking of the Super Bowl, we are avoiding that general area of town like the plague. My parents live less than a mile from the stadium and the Mama B family lives about 3 blocks from the stadium. It has been almost impossible to talk to any of them on the phone this week when they are at home because of the constant buzz of helicopters and such over their houses. I personally don’t think it has lived up to the hype our city has given it and will be happy when things are back to normal. I am so happy I am not working today (right by the stadium again) and went to church last night so I didn’t have to fight the traffic this morning.

I send text messages all day long to people. The cell phone bill came yesterday. Hubs had 18 text messages.(He is a quite sort, unless of course he is pissing of the TV people) I had 1354 text messages (remember I text lots) and Noodle had over 2300 text messages and that didn’t include her 150 picture messages. Holy Cow! Just so you know, she does not take her phone to school and we get home about 6:00 and she is not allowed to use her phone after 8:00 (or until her homework is done). That is alot of texting! I am glad we went with the unlimited feature. If she is on the phone this much at 12 (in 15 days) what is it going to be like when she is a teenager? Oy.

Thing1 hasn’t been feeling good and is completely out of sorts. She is an old, old girl and I fear her time is near. It will be a sad day for us when it happens. I fear Thing2 who is just a young pup at almost 7 will take it the hardest and wonder if we will end up losing both of them. I am not sure I will be able to handle it.

I think that about sums things around here up in a nut shell. We are going to a Super Bowl party this afternoon so we will get to see the funny commercials (isn’t that really what it is all about?) so not all is lost. Hubs went to H0me Dep0t and I asked him to stop at the grocery store on the way home. I gave him a list of 4 things. It will be interesting to see what he brings home.

1. Jog-a-thon … you are BRAVE! I was a runner for years, haven’t in years, and while I would have done the same thing, that would only be true if I had shown up! LOL
2. I’m without TV, too. Have been for two months now. I miss it, but at least you’re going to get yours back! LOL
3. Um, that texting thing? That’s insane. That’s a lot of texting … and I thought I was bad!
4. Sorry to hear that Thing1 is hurting. I will keep her (and Thing2 & your family) in my prayers. It’s hard to lose Things.
5. Please do share what Hubs brings home from your list!
